BOSTON (WWLP) – The Healey-Driscoll Administration admitted on Tuesday that they accidentally paid former aide LaMar Cook over $31,000 in unused vacation pay.
Cook was the deputy director of the governor’s western Massachusetts office in Springfield until his arrest in late October. He was charged with cocaine trafficking and firearms offenses after investigators intercepted a package delivered to Cook at his workplace containing about 21 kilograms of cocaine.
Second half of legislative session begins
Cook pleaded not guilty to all charges, but Governor Healey–who has declined to comment on what she knew about Cook and when–fired the aide immediately.
According to Massachusetts records, Cook was paid out $31,438.56 in unused vacation pay on top of his base pay of $98,788.77 in 2025. The Healey-Driscoll Administration says the payment was a mistake…
