MassWildlife Director retires after 38 years of service

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) – Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife) Director Mark Tisa has announced his retirement after 38 years of service.

Deputy Director Dr. Everose “Eve” Schlüter has been appointed Acting Director while the agency begins a national search for Tisa’s permanent replacement.

Tisa’s career at MassWildlife included significant contributions to wildlife conservation and management. In his role as director, which he held for seven years, he spearheaded numerous programs aimed at protecting biodiversity and expanding outdoor recreational opportunities for the public across the state…
