WORCESTER – In a terse statement issued Tuesday, Jan. 20, Worcester city officials said the city’s director of veterans services, Joseph Robinson, is “not actively employed by the city.”
Robinson, appointed to the post in November 2023, said he sent city officials a letter Tuesday, Jan. 20 declaring he “will not be resigning from his position” and would continue to further the projects he initiated on behalf of the thousands of veterans living in Worcester.
City spokesman Thomas Matthews said, “Joe Robinson is not actively employed by the City of Worcester.” City officials reported Friday, Jan. 16, that Robinson had resigned. Robinson said Friday, Jan. 16 that officials gave him an option to resign or be terminated by Tuesday, Jan. 20.
