Worcester man accused in shooting on I-290 being held without bail

WORCESTER – A city man is being held pending a dangerousness hearing for allegedly driving alongside and shooting at the driver of a moving car, hitting him in the leg and scrotum, three months ago on a stretch on Interstate 290.

Jonathan Febles, 35, is charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

According to court records, which include a statement of facts by Trooper Michael Travers, a driver made an emergency call shortly before 2 a.m. Oct. 19, saying he had been shot several times while driving on I-290 westbound, according to the statement of facts…
