Gov. Healey declares remote-work day as 2-foot snowstorm nears Mass.

With frigid air and a threat of two feet of snow barreling toward Massachusetts, Gov. Maura Healey has declared Monday a remote‑work day and activated the state’s emergency operations center, warning residents to stay home, prepare for outages and keep off the roads.

“We’re here today to talk about freezing temperatures, which are going to be really, really bad tonight and continuing through the weekend,” Healey said at a press conference at the State House in Boston on Friday afternoon.

“And also, a snowstorm. We haven’t had one of these like this (yet) this year, so it is a big deal for the state … we’re taking this storm very seriously,” Healey said…
