Trailcam captures moose navigating deep snow in Massachusetts

HUNTINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A 22News viewer shared a photo of a moose that they spotted on their trailcam in Huntington on Monday.

Historic snowstorm totals in western Massachusetts

The photo was captured at 9:41 a.m. on Monday after a historic storm dropped over a foot of snow in western Massachusetts. The moose was spotted trudging through the snow in Huntington.

“Deep snow did not bother this big girl!” shared by Tina Washington.

Moose are the largest land animals in Massachusetts, weighing up to 1,000 pounds and standing nearly 6 feet tall at the shoulder. Moose are more active during their fall mating season, which increases the likelihood of encounters with these large animals, particularly on back roads.
