Winter weather advisory in place for 3 Massachusetts counties for Sunday and Monday – up to 6 inches of snow

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 11:35 p.m. valid from Sunday 4 a.m. until Monday 4 a.m. for Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service says to prepare for, “Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.”

“Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches,” explains the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
