A new report by the state auditor’s Bureau of Special Investigations details nearly $12 million in public assistance fraud in the 2025 budget year.
The largest portion of that fraud, $4.1 million, was found in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. The program is often known by its former name, “food stamps.”
