Massachusetts transportation officials have laid out their anticipated schedule for constructing a new Sagamore Bridge as they move toward replacing it and its twin, the Bourne Bridge.
The more than decade-long timeline calls for construction to begin in the winter of 2027-2028 and for a new southbound Sagamore Bridge to be in place by the fall of 2033. All traffic will run over that bridge while the northbound span is constructed in the years following.
