Bill would honor memory of Rte. 20 crash victims from Charlton

BOSTON – Several state legislators have filed a bill to dedicate a stretch of Route 20 in the memory of a family who has suffered personal loss due to an impaired driver slamming head-on into the family’s minivan nearly 30 years earlier.

On Nov. 1, 1997, a Charlton family was coming home from Christmas shopping at the Auburn Mall when they were involved in the crash.

Mike Brodeur died instantly, leaving behind his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Kimberly, 5; Katie, 3; and Kyle, 10. Kyle was paralyzed in the crash. He spent 12 months in a coma and had more than 30 surgeries. Kyle died peacefully on Jan. 5…
