Western Massachusetts cardiologist admits to practicing while impaired

WAKEFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine has taken disciplinary action against the medical license of a cardiologist after he admitted to practicing medicine while impaired.

Dr. Lucian M. Neville, who is a board-certified internist and holds a subspecialty certification in cardiovascular disease, was first licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts in June 2022.

A news release from the Board in January revealed that in a Consent Order, the Board immediately stayed the suspension of Neville’s license upon his entry into a probation agreement. The Board stated that Neville admitted that he practiced medicine while impaired.

Before the recent disciplinary action, he entered into a voluntary agreement not to practice medicine on March 13, 2024. The Board opted to stay the suspension after the physician demonstrated his fitness to practice medicine under the terms of the probation…
