Worcester Man Sentenced to Three Years for Illegal Reentry After Deportation

Boston – A 49-year-old Dominican National who has been illegally residing in Worcester has been sentenced to three years in prison for illegally reentering the United States following deportation.

U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman imposed the sentence after Jose Luis Urena-Vazquez admitted to one count of illegal reentry. Following completion of his prison term, he will again face removal from the country.

According to court records, immigration authorities first encountered Urena-Vasquez in 2008 while serving an 11-month sentence for a drug distribution conviction at the Essex County House of Corrections.
