Ex-Worcester councilor who protested ICE to appeal assault conviction

A former Worcester city councilor found guilty of assaulting a police officer during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation plans to appeal her conviction.

Etel Haxhiaj, who previously represented District 5 in Worcester, filed an appeal on Feb. 19, according to MassCourts.org.
