NORTHBOROUGH – Chickens are once again a topic of debate in Northborough.
On Feb. 24, the Board of Health held a public hearing regarding imposing regulations to keep poultry in town. The issue, which entered the limelight when it was reported by the Community Advocate in September, started when residents of Thaddeus Mason Road came to the Board of Health complaining about a chicken coop which was “upsetting” due to the smell.
“Everybody in this neighborhood, they really watch out for their property, they try to make everything look nice,” Joan Clementi said at the initial meeting. “This [the chicken coop] is probably upsetting to quite a few people, us the most.”…
