A new exhibit centered around elephants is opening at the EcoTarium in Worcester this Saturday.
The exhibit at the science museum is called “The Secret World of Elephants,” according to the EcoTarium’s website. A grand opening ceremony for the public will be held at 11 a.m. and the first ticketed entry will enter the exhibit at 11:30 a.m., the website reads.
The exhibit consists of five sections, focusing on the history, habitat, psychology, biology and human culture involving elephants. Attendees will get the chance to hold teeth casts of woolly mammoths and mastodons, the ancestors of the modern-day elephant. A projection of an elephant’s insides will also be featured, so attendees can get a chance to see what its skeleton, heartbeat and organs look like and how they function.
