A vehicle caught fire on the Massachusetts Turnpike, impacting traffic during the morning commute in Westborough on Thursday.
The Westborough Fire Department said a box truck with insultation was burning at the 102.4 mile marker on Interstate 90 west. A photo shared by the department on social media showed the vehicle fully engulfed in bright, orange flames, with thick, dark gray smoke billowing into the air.
The incident initially closed all of I-90 westbound but the left lane then reopened to allow traffic to get by, as the two right lanes remained closed for hours, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation…
