Man accused of intentionally driving car into Shrewsbury PD pleads not guilty to attempted murder

SHREWSBURY, MASS. (WHDH) – A man accused of intentionally driving his car into the Shrewsbury police department in January was arraigned Tuesday, and pleaded not guilty to several charges including attempted murder.

Robert McCluskey, 58, of Shrewsbury, is facing multiple charges including attempted murder, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction, operating to endanger, and operating under the influence (OUI).

On January 19, Shrewsbury police said a black SUV came barrelling through the building and became wedged inside. Police said as the driver, later identified as McCluskey, was removed from the car, he repeatedly said, “I am sorry, I am sorry, help me, I am sorry.”…
