Late-Night Southbridge Inferno Chases Families Into Streets

A late-evening blaze in Southbridge sent families rushing from their homes as mutual-aid crews from neighboring towns poured into the neighborhood. Neighbors quickly shared photos of ladder trucks cutting into the night sky and thick smoke billowing from the building while firefighters worked to keep the flames from spreading. Town officials said they were arranging temporary shelter and support for residents forced out by the fire.
