Former head of Mass. State Police unit that investigated Karen Read retires

Massachusetts State Police Lt. Brian Tully, who oversaw the investigation into John O’Keefe’s death and testified at Karen Read’s trial, has retired.

State police confirmed his retirement was effective at the end of day Wednesday. Tully’s most recent post was part of the Field Services division, an MSP spokesman told the Boston Herald. He formerly led the detective unit for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
