Rhode Island mother makes plea as autistic son has no friends ahead of birthday; what happened next was magical

It is no secret that social media can be filled with hate and trolling. We all see it on a daily basis. However, sometimes people come together to show what good the power of the internet can provide.

Woonsocket mother, Alyssa Conkey, took to a Facebook group late last week to issue a plea for her son.

“My son Christian has severe autism, and he will be 8 years old on Monday. He is nonverbal and doesn’t have any friends for a birthday party so I was hoping if anyone or their kids could make him a birthday card. It would be so special, and I want to give him the best birthday ever. It breaks my heart every year that he doesn’t have any friends to celebrate with because he’s unable to communicate.
