Gov. Healey declares Monday ‘413 Day’ in Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) — From the Berkshires to Brimfield, and every point in between, Monday was a day to celebrate western Massachusetts.

On Monday, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey proclaimed Monday, April 13, 2026 as ‘413 Day’ in the commonwealth. In her proclamation, she noted that the region is known for, among other things, “it’s diverse landscapes” including Mount Greylock, the state’s highest peak, the Connecticut River valley, and the Quabbin Reservoir, which provides water to dozens of greater Boston communities and is open for fishing, hiking, and boating.

She added that the 413 also welcomes people of diverse backgrounds, including Northampton which serves “as a beacon of acceptance and support for the LGBTQ+ community” and Holyoke, which has “the highest per capita Puerto Rican population in the continental United States.”…
