“It Was Game On”: The Late-Night Call That Turned Into a Race Against Time

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue, a nonprofit that cares for injured and orphaned wildlife in Massachusetts, shared a late-night account this week highlighting the urgent, around-the-clock nature of its work after two young fox kits needed emergency help. “It was 10 pm when she pulled in,” the organization wrote, describing a frightened finder who “had witnessed the kit get hit by a car” and could not bring themself to look inside the carrier to see whether the animal was alive.
