A slimmed-down 36-unit project approved by Shrewsbury Planning Board

SHREWSBURY – After a journey that included outrage, compromise, concessions, and skirting a mixed-use moratorium, a 36-unit project along a major Shrewsbury thoroughfare finally gained approval on April 6 after a unanimous vote from the Planning Board.

Situated at 308-312 Boston Turnpike – across Route 9 from the Fairlawn (Marketplace) Plaza at the corner of Maple Avenue – Prestige Property Development will construct two 18-unit buildings for a total of 36 units.

The project was first introduced as a 48-unit project, but through negotiations with the developer, it was scaled back to 40 units, and then again to 36 one- and two-bedroom units spread over two buildings…
