SHREWSBURY – Hopefully no beavers are reading this.
Following years of consistent complaints that properties near Old Mill Pond and the Holden Street Culvert were being flooded, the Conservation Commission on April 21 allowed so-called “beaver deceivers” to be permanently installed along the watersheds.
The idea is to stop the beavers from damming the waterways. It’s billed as a sustainable intervention that allows the beavers to live in the local area, all while reducing the flooding risk for local residents and roadways…
