A heat wave is predicted to cause near-record high temperatures in Massachusetts this week, but not all communities will get as hot as others, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a slight chance of scattered showers or thunderstorms in Eastern and Central Massachusetts Sunday afternoon amid partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s to upper 80s in the late afternoon before dropping into the mid 50s overnight.
Highs on Monday are predicted to reach the mid to high 80s in Western and Central Massachusetts. Temperatures are expected to be cooler in Eastern Massachusetts, reaching the upper 70s in most communities, but staying as low as the upper 60s in some coastal areas…
