NORTHBOROUGH – The debate about the Marion E. Zeh Elementary School roof is over.
During the second night of Town Meeting on April 28, Northborough Town Meeting voted overwhelmingly (166-19) to appropriate approximately $3 million to “recover” the aging roof, putting it back into working order. In a subsequent vote at the ballot box, a debt exclusion for the roof passed by a 1,144-580 tally.
Currently, the Zeh School roof, which dates back to 1998, has several roof leaks causing serious problems. Water is pooling, seams are failing, and flashing is being pulled away from the building.
