GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Monday is a First Alert Weather Day with the potential for severe storms during the afternoon and evening. We get another round of rain Tuesday before drying out for the rest of the week.
⚠️ MONDAY: FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY
Partly cloudy skies Monday morning linger into the early afternoon helping to warm us up to highs in the low to mid 80s.
The heat helps to destabilize the atmosphere so when scattered showers and thunderstorms start to develop during the afternoon, we are on alert for severe weather potential. Showers and storms fire up after 1 p.m. and continue on and off through 10 p.m. We are also watching to our west where a complex of storms may develop and try to move into the area this evening.
The main threat for severe weather is with damaging straight-line winds but isolated large hail can’t be ruled out.
Tonight’s outlook: Showers and storms clear out overnight. Lows dip into the mid 50s to the low 60s.
Tuesday: Cooler with Showers
Cooler air builds in overnight, taking highs for Tuesday down into the low 70s.
A batch of rain is on the way, but it’s a much more stable day, so no severe weather is expect and even thunder is hard to come by. It’s partly cloudy outside of the rain. Expect breezy northeast winds with gusts up to 25 mph.
Wednesday-Saturday: Extended Dry Pattern and Warming Trend
The region dries out completely starting Wednesday as high pressure builds in from the west. Sunshine dominates, and a gradual warming trend takes shape…
