State law enforcement will investigate a shooting after a Pelzer man was fatally shot by an Anderson County sheriff’s deputy after he allegedly armed himself during a welfare check.
David Milton, 70, was shot by an Anderson deputy on June 5 after a call regarding an individual possibly needing medical attention, according to a statement released by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
The deputy encountered Milton in a camper. During the interaction, Milton grabbed a sword, then a hammer, and then a screwdriver from inside the camper.
