HUDSON, Ohio (WJW) — A bill aimed at cracking down on catalytic converter thefts in Ohio is headed to Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk after winning approval from both chambers of the General Assembly.
State Rep. Bill Roemer, R-Richfield, said the legislation was inspired in part by a catalytic converter theft at a Hudson church several years ago.

“We had people who came in on a Sunday morning and stole multiple catalytic converters at a church in Hudson,” Roemer told FOX 8 News. “If people are going to do that in Hudson, driving past marked police cars, they are going to steal anyone’s catalytic converter anywhere.”
