MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) — Some residents in Meridian Township are experiencing power outages Thursday morning after a crash took out a utility pole.
The crash happened in the area of Saginaw Street and Lake Lansing Road. A driver lost control, hit the pole and ended up in a ditch, police on scene with the Meridian Township Police Department told 6 News. No one was hurt, but the car was totaled.
The utility pole was broken in half, a 6 News crew saw. The bottom half is on the ground, while the top half is suspended in the air, held up by utility lines.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area. Lake Lansing Road is closed in both directions at Saginaw Street, while Saginaw Street is open to traffic on both directions, Meridian Township said in a social media post.
