GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The family of a man who disappeared from Greenville more than 30 years ago is speaking out for the first time since his remains were identified, saying the discovery has brought long-awaited answers — and new questions about why it took so long to find them.
Eric Lee Mason was 20 when he was last seen at the Salvation Army on Rutherford Street in January 1996. Earlier this month, DNA testing confirmed Mason was the same person whose remains were discovered in Oconee County in 2004.
Now, his family wants to know how he ended up more than an hour from where he was last seen and why it took decades to identify him…
