GREENVILLE, S.C. — South Carolina is making history in bicycle safety after Gov. Henry McMaster signed the “stop as yield” bill into law.
The Palmetto State is the first on the East Coast to adopt the policy, which changes how cyclists operate on the roads.
Before, cyclists had to treat stop signs and red lights just like drivers, coming to a complete stop. But now, if the way is clear, they can make the call themselves to keep moving.
