Steele Creek Food Truck Dad Of Seven Found Dead Near Carowinds

A Charlotte restaurateur and father of seven, Carlos Abrahams, was found dead in his car on Saturday near the intersection of Choate Road and Carowinds Boulevard, according to his family. Abrahams owned Crav’n Caribbean, operating both a brick-and-mortar spot and a food truck, and had become a familiar face in the Steele Creek community after the birth of his quadruplets in December 2024. News of his death has sparked a wave of condolences online and a fundraiser to help cover the family’s immediate needs.

According to Charlotte Alerts News, emergency crews responded to the Choate Road and Carowinds Boulevard area on June 20 and found Abrahams inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. The outlet reports he was pronounced dead at the scene. The story also states that the Mecklenburg County medical examiner has preliminarily ruled the death a suicide, although a full report has not yet been released.
