CLIFTON PARK — Situated inside North Country Commons at 1208 Route 146 in Clifton Park is a new functional fitness training facility dedicated to coach-led, group-based workouts. It’s called Grit Fitness, founded by Clifton Park resident Lynsey Abbale.
“Truly, it’s a dream come true,” Abbale said. “It’s the gym of my dreams.”
The fitness center has a 5,000-square-foot back room with a variety of equipment, including dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, rowing machines, sleds, battle ropes, air bikes, SkiErg machines and more designed for strength and power training. There is also open space for athleticism and mobility training in a class format. And it features a cubby area for clients to store personal items, locker rooms and a 2,500-square-foot front room that is being transformed into a training studio similar to the back room, Abbale said.
“I wanted it to feel like a practice facility for adults,” she said. “As soon as I walked in, that’s what it felt like to me. It felt like a room where adults could come and work hard and play. It felt different.”…
