Erie’s Black Wall Street has officially taken a major step forward in its mission to revitalize the East Side, announcing the purchase of a long-vacant building on Parade Street. The organization also revealed an exciting addition to the space The Coffee Bar by LegendErie, which is set to open in late Summer or Fall of 2026.
The journey to this milestone began in December 2025, when Executive Director Kyra Taylor, Vice President Dalen Hooks, and Associate Director Rhonda Matthews toured the property after being approached by the building’s owner. Recognizing Erie’s Black Wall Street’s commitment to community development and economic empowerment, the owner saw the organization as the right steward to reimagine the space.
