Evansville woman to be sentenced in child neglect case

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville woman is set to be sentenced Wednesday after a jury found her guilty of neglecting a 2-year-old girl who was left with permanent brain damage.

Kashia Blanks is scheduled to be sentenced at 2 p.m.

Jury conviction

A jury found Blanks guilty earlier this month of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 3 felony, and neglect of a dependent by deprivation of necessary support, a Level 6 felony.
