GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Lovely Day ABA and Autism Services has shut down after an insurance dispute led the owner, Sunrise ABA and Autism Services LLC., to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
On the same day that Sunrise ABA filed for bankruptcy, founder Mamie Turner alerted employees and families that the Greensboro facility, which served about 100 families with specialized therapy and individualized care, was permanently closing, according to court records.
Billing issues uncovered
The first signs of trouble were in May when a six-figure billing issue came to light, according to administrators at the facility. FOX8 toured the Greensboro facility that month after administrators reached out about an ongoing insurance dispute.
