SAN DIEGO — Fire crews were able to stop the forward rate of spread on a brush fire burning in the Clairemont neighborhood in San Diego on Wednesday afternoon. The fire started in a canyon and was sending large plumes of smoke into the air very close to homes nearby.
The “Regents Fire” burned about a 1/4 of an acre at the bottom of a canyon as fire crews worked to stop the blaze from the ground and air.
Crews are expected to remain in the area to make sure any hot spots are extinguished…
