A grandmother found dead in her upstate New York apartment is suspected of fatally poisoning her daughter, four grandchildren and herself in a horror murder-suicide, police said.
The body of Amy Steadman, 64, was discovered alongside the bodies of the victims inside an apartment in Mechanicville on Tuesday after a neighbor requested a welfare check, noting they had not seen Steadman for some time, Mechanicville Police Chief William Rabbitt said at a news conference.
“When officers were unable to make contact with Ms. Steadman, building management was contacted and access to the apartment was obtained. Upon entering the residence, officers located six deceased individuals,” Rabbit said…
