Trooper relieved of duty after video of violent incident in Quincy

Following a violent altercation at Reel House bar in Quincy, an unnamed state trooper has been removed from duty pending a “formal status hearing,” according to a statement obtained by The Patriot Ledger’s media partner, WCVB 5.

A video of the incident, which circulated widely on social media on June 27 by “What’s the Word Mass,” shows two off-duty troopers at the bar separated by a woman. One trooper walks around the woman and punches the other, who remains seated in the bar stool, five times, landing three blows directly to the face and head.
