Online payments will go dark from July 20 through July 28, 2026, while the city makes the switch. Customers who normally get their bills toward the end of the month should expect some delay. The city is giving people a break on the back end, though — late fees will be waived from July 20 through August 7, 2026, so nobody should get hit with a penalty because of the system change.
If you need to pay during the blackout window, the city says checks can still be mailed to its processing center at P.O. Box 288242, Tampa, FL 33630-8242, or dropped in the box outside City Hall at 100 NW 1st Avenue in Delray Beach. Just don’t expect it to post right away — none of those payments will actually show up on accounts until July 28.
Once the new portal is up and running, customers will notice some new fees attached to convenience. Starting July 28, phone payments will carry a 50-cent transaction fee, e-checks will cost $1.95 plus the 50-cent fee, and credit card payments will run 3.25% of the bill (with a $2.50 minimum) plus that same 50-cent transaction fee.
