CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been charged after a domestic violence-related incident led to a large police presence at an east Charlotte apartment complex, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, CMPD reported increased police activity in the 1500 block of Kelston Place. They said the original call appeared to be domestic violence-related.

As of 2 p.m. that day, CMPD said the police activity concluded without mentioning an arrest.
On Monday, CMPD announced that 28-year-old David Caldwell was taken into custody on June 25. He is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond for assault by strangulation, second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, assault by pointing a gun, and a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
According to cOurt documents, Caldwell assaulted a woman whom he was previously dating by pointing a firearm, tying them up, and strangling them. The woman, 25 years old, suffered minor injuries…
