Divers rescue man from car submerged in Alameda estuary

A man was rescued after plunging his vehicle into the estuary between Alameda and Oakland on Sunday night, authorities said Monday.

At about 9:46 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle submerged in the water near Brooklyn Basin, with one person trapped inside.
