SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Comedian Dave Chappelle is the latest public figure to show support to San Diego’s Islamic community after three men were killed by two teen gunmen in a mass shooting at a San Diego mosque.
President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, whose wife is from San Diego, along with leaders from across the country, publicly condemned the mass shooting in the days after.

In an Instagram reel posted by Chappelle on Monday, he paid tribute to the victims and their families.
The reel starts with a news clip from FOX 5/KUSI’s sister station in Los Angeles, KTLA, then cuts to a clip of him at his Father’s Day standup show in San Diego talking about the shooting. He told the crowd he went to the mosque where three people were shot and killed in broad daylight, saying “that community couldn’t have been more gracious.”
