Before crime happens: North Charleston PD launches new tool to target trespassing

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A new program is giving North Charleston police another tool to step in when they find suspicious activity on private property.

The North Charleston Police Department is launching an Agent of Trespass agreement, allowing business and residential property owners to give officers permission to enforce trespassing laws on their behalf, even when the owner or a representative is not there.
