Texas man charged after Schuylkill County customer never received laser

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SCHUYLKILL CO. (WOLF) — A Texas man is facing misdemeanor charges after Pennsylvania State Police say a Schuylkill County customer paid more than $1,500 for a laser aiming device that was never delivered.

According to court documents, 36-year-old Daks Clifford Barnard, of Frisco, Texas, has been charged with theft by deception and deceptive business practices following an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Schuylkill Haven.

Investigators allege the case began in November 2024 when a Schuylkill Haven Borough resident ordered a Steiner DBAL-A3 Dual Beam Aiming Laser with an infrared illuminator from Barnard’s online business, Night Vision Network. Police said the customer paid $1,589.95, including shipping…
