I ordered one coffee my first morning here and ended up with a list of six more shops to try before lunch. Locals kept interrupting each other just to argue about who actually pulls the best espresso shot in town.
Alabama has plenty of good coffee scattered around, but this city built an entire identity around it. Roasters who know every bean’s origin by heart, baristas who remember your order after one visit, and shops that somehow each feel completely different from the next.
Nobody settles for one favorite here, and that says everything. I love towns where coffee becomes a conversation starter instead of just a morning routine…
