CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The release of 911 calls is providing new insight into a deadly shooting during an apparent home break-in in east Charlotte last month.

In one call, a man tells the dispatcher, “I’m the good guy here in the house,” before saying another man had been shot.

“He’s dead, he’s lying on his side, he hasn’t moved in two to three minutes,” the caller says. The caller also said that two people were reportedly involved in the break-in and said one person had been shot in the backyard. A second 911 caller reported seeing an armed person in the neighborhood, telling dispatch that someone wearing black clothing was carrying a “large gun.”
