LMPD: Suspected arsonist tried to cash in by getting hired for the repairs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested Dashon Kilbourne, 24, in connection with a series of incidents involving property damage at two Louisville shopping centers and a scheme to profit from the damage, according to Jefferson District Court records.

Kilbourne is charged across three felony cases, including arson (first- and second-degree), third-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Records allege Kilbourne and at least one co-defendant broke into Dixie Manor Shopping Center on Dixie Highway and started a fire May 14, creating a substantial risk to people in an adjoining business…
