JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) — Bernard Hamilton watched his son die when he was shot in his front yard more than two decades ago, and to this day is still waiting for answers on who killed him.
“He collapsed right in the doorway in my hands,” Hamilton says. “Taking his last breath and all.”
Hamilton hasn’t given up on finding out who killed his 23-year-old son, Tracy Bernard “Fuddy” Hamilton, on Dec. 23, 2003. He still recalls hearing the gunshots and then seeing Fuddy struggle to reach him with his last words echoing in the back of his mind: “Daddy, they got me.” Ever since that night, he’s been working with the Charleston Police Department to find out who pulled the trigger, but a lack of answers and movement has Hamilton now pushing for justice to finally come…
